Dante Perez ('06) Selected as Head Football Coach

Valley Christian welcomes Dante Perez ('06) home as the head football coach

Valley Christian High School is proud to announce the selection of Dante Perez ('06) as the next head coach of the Warrior Football program. Coach Perez will become the fifth head football coach in Valley Christian High School history following Damon Gilliland, Bob Riddell, Ron Kellner and Mike Machado.

During his time at Valley Christian High School, Dante was a two-year varsity starter and a member of four different CCS Championship football teams. He later became a record-setting quarterback at Foothill College and was also a player on the North Dakota State University 2011 National Championship team. More recently, Coach Perez has led The King's Academy (Sunnyvale) football program for the past four seasons where his teams earned two league championships and he was twice named coach of the year.

"It is a dream come true to have the opportunity to return to the Valley Christian campus as the leader of the Warrior football program, said Coach Perez. "My time on the Skyway campus was deeply formative in my life. I believe that football programs thrive when united around a common purpose, and I am passionate about the mission of Valley Christian Schools to equip students to become leaders to serve God, to serve their families, and to positively impact their communities and the world. As a graduate of Valley Christian and someone raised in San Jose, I am deeply invested in this community.

Valley Christian High School Athletic Director Ryan Realini commented, "We had the opportunity to meet many great leaders during the process of selecting our next head football coach. Of course, Dante's track record of championship success at every level of his playing and coaching career stood out to us during the process. As important, Dante is a living example of our school's mission. His desire to serve our families and the broader community was evident in every interaction."

Dante and his wife Cherina have four children: Sarai (10), Pennel (9), Hadassah (6) and Pelia (3). He will officially begin his work at Valley Christian upon completion of the hiring process.
