Shelby Phillips is in her fourth year as Valley Christian's Team Engagement Coordinator. A proud VCHS Class of 2017 graduate, she returned to her alma mater in 2023. She now helps connect Warrior teams, families and fans to the athletic community she grew up in.
Phillips is an integral part of Valley Christian football operations, supporting one of the premier programs in Northern California. She manages team equipment, runs sideline technology and coordinates game-day travel for the Warriors. She brings college athletics experience to the role. At Montana State University, she spent three years as an athletic marketing intern with the Bobcats. She also spent two years as a recruiting and operations assistant for Montana State football.
Phillips earned her bachelor's degree in English Literature from Montana State University–Bozeman in 2022.
Asked what she loves most about Valley Christian, Phillips points to "the community that surrounds our athletic department." Valley Christian is a family tradition: her brother, Dwyer Phillips, is a 2020 VCHS graduate. Shelby lives in San Jose and attends Menlo Church.
Her life verse is Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." "I have struggled with anxiety," she says, "and this verse reminds me that I need to be courageous in all that I do and not be discouraged when I feel anxious."
