Ricardo Choy

Ricardo Choy joined Valley Christian in 2026 as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). He helps keep Warrior student-athletes healthy, safe and performing at their best. He brings training from two of the West's top university programs, and experience at the NCAA Division I, Division II and high school levels.

Choy earned his bachelor's degree in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon in 2023. He then completed a Master of Athletic Training at Oregon State University in 2026. At Oregon, he was a student athletic training intern with the Ducks' football and women's lacrosse programs. During his graduate work at Oregon State, he served as an athletic trainer at the college Division I and Division II levels, as well as at the high school level.

A Bay Area native, Choy graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose in 2018. He played club lacrosse for two years at the University of Oregon.
Choy says what has stood out most so far is how supportive the Valley Christian staff has been. "They made sure my transition into the athletic trainer position was seamless," he says.

Choy lives in Santa Clara and attends Saint Justin Parish. His family includes his parents, Elizabeth and Ricardo, and his sister, Sabrina.

His life verse is Philippians 4:6: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." "This verse takes the fear or anxiety we may be carrying and turns it into trust in God," he says, "and gives us peace instead."

Fun fact: Ricardo is a 9-handicap golfer.
