Valley Christian Schools is pleased to announce that Alisa Meyer has been selected for the position of head women’s water polo coach.
Coach Meyer came to Valley Christian in 2014 to serve as an assistant women’s water polo coach, a swimming and diving coach, as well as a junior high teacher. Coach Meyer received her undergraduate degree from San Jose State in 2014 where she was also a member of the Division I women’s water polo team for four years. Coach Meyer later earned her master’s degree in 2017 in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in Technology from Colorado State University Global Campus.
Coach Meyer has been coaching since 2010 and has most recently been a coach for the San Jose Express Water Polo Club. She has coached in over eight Junior Olympics for men’s and women’s water polo and has coached at the California State Swimming and Diving Championships the last four years.
“I am incredibly excited to accept the role of Women’s Water Polo head coach,” said Meyer. “This has been a goal of mine for some time. I have a strong passion for coaching and love the Valley Christian community. I am very enthusiastic about where our program currently stands, but cannot wait to expand upon the strong foundation already in place.”
“We are thrilled to have Alisa Meyer as the next leader of our women’s water polo program,” said Vice President of Athletics and Physical Education Eric Scharrenberg. “We are confident she will build on the strong foundation that has been developed over the past twelve years. Coach Meyer is passionate about creating opportunities for our girls to build lifelong relationships while competing at the highest levels. Most importantly, as a long-time member of our faculty and coaching staff, she has a deep passion for the mission of our school and athletic program.”
