Unable to capitalize in the first half the Warriors made some adjustments at half to move Aragon out of the central area where they had an advantage.
Senior Dons Goalie Kaitlyn Revel stopped a barrage of shots and had two fantastic saves keeping the Warrior off of the board. At the 79:15 mark Stephanie Bales delivered a ball that send sent Senior Morgan Celaya high in the air where she headed a perfect goal for the winner. “The goal felt great, especially after missing high on my previous opportunity,” said an elated Morgan Celaya. “Sooner or later we had to put one in, their goalie had an awesome game.”
“When you continue to work and focus you will be rewarded,” Coach Jolene Keel commented after the game about the game winning goal. “Never giving in to the cold and rain our persistence paid off tonight.”
