Flores Land on NAIA All-Region I Teams (Update)

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Senior Daniel Flores (San Jose, Calif.) was the lone Warrior to make the 2008 NAIA All-Region I Team to go along with fellow senior Jamie McGraw's (Gaston, Ore.) recognition as the regional's best center fielder, as the teams were announced earlier today by the regional information director.

After placing a pair of players on the all-conference team earlier this week, Flores and McGraw capped amazing careers when the aforementioned duo was named as members of this year's 17-player team.

Flores, a senior middle infielder, played only one year at Corban after transferring from The Master's College in Santa Clarita, California. The 5-foot-10 shortstop led the team in at-bats (151), hits (52), doubles (13), home runs (4), runs batted in (38), total bases (79), slugging percentage (.523), hit by pitch (4), and assists (123).

In just one season in a Warrior uniform, Flores ranks in the top 10 for a single season in four offensive categories that includes runs batted in (tied for 4th), doubles (tied for 6th), batting average (tied for 10th), and total bases (tied for 10th).

McGraw, a senior outfielder, was the lone Warrior to make the All-Region I Gold Glove Team. The 6-foot center fielder and lead off hitter for Corban was honored as the region's best center fielder after committing zero errors in 103 attempts with eight assists en route to tying for the team lead in fielding percentage with a perfect 1.000. McGraw's fielding percentage was the best among everyday players for the Warriors.

Corban ended its season at 10-31 overall, 7-17 in NAIA Region I play. For second-year head coach Nate Mayben, today's players bring his two-year total to three players that he has coached to all-region recognition and one All-Region I Gold Glove team member.
