The influx of talented Valley Christian football players to San Jose State will continue with Daniel Carrillo and Tanner Burns making oral commitments to play for the Spartans.

The seniors plan to sign their letters of intent Wednesday.

Last year's SJSU roster featured five former Warriors, including star receiver Kevin Jurovich and senior linebacker Matt Castelo, who will play his last college game Saturday in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star game.

Carrillo, a defensive back, was a first team All-Mercury News selection who made seven interceptions. In a win over Archbishop Mitty, he caught a touchdown pass, blocked a punt and returned it for a score, and returned an interception for a touchdown.

Burns was a second-team All-Mercury News selection and a first-team pick in the West Catholic Athletic League as a defensive back.

Also planning to sign letters of intent Wednesday are girls soccer player Morgan Celaya (DePaul) and track athlete Kristen Houp (Columbia).

Celaya was a first team All-Mercury News selection last season after scoring seven goals with nine assists. Houp finished second in the Central Coast Section 400 meter final last year.

• Kris Clark of Saratoga High plans to sign a letter of intent to play at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. The senior midfielder/forward leads the Falcons with seven goals and five assists this season.
