Valley Christian finished third (193) as sophomore Shayne Fleming swept the freestyle sprints for the second year in a row … winning the 50 (20.33) and the 100 (45.29). He also anchored the winning 200 medley relay team and swam a leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay with teammates Alex Higgenbotham, Daniel Tan and Kevin Parizi.

“I’ve been working hard on my turns,” said Fleming, who didn’t take a breath in the 50 race and swam a split of 50 yard split 19.8 . “I know I can swim the times if I get those turns down. I like the 50 best because you just go all out, and I swam faster in the relay because I wanted to give everything I had to help the team.”
