This weekend six Valley Christian amigos, their coaches and supportive family members joined forces to tackle the 3rd most difficult tournament in the state of California (3rd to 5-Counties & CIF); The Tim Brown Memorial Tournament (Formerly Foothill Invitational). It could not have taken place in any better venue than the state capital itself, Sacramento. The tournament hosting 93 schools from throughout all California was held at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, a facility constructed in recognition and memory of falling veterans. It was totally the most beautiful spot for such a monumental event. With state and section ranked wrestlers in absolutely every weight class just placing in the top 8 here would be monumental. But there is no mountain nor any valley VC wrestlers can’t climb or reach. With the support of parents, siblings, excellent coaching, god in our hearts and the true spirit of determined and focused wrestlers, we placed 3 wrestlers in the top 8. With the small number of wrestlers we brought it was unheard of. It was the first time Valley has ever achieved this feat at this level. Congratulations are truly in order for our Valley Christian High School Wrestling Team, their coaches and those diehard parents and friends that support them.
