This will be Mike's eleventh year at the helm of the Warriors football program. Before last season, the Warriors had appeared in the Central Coast Section play-offs for eight consecutive years. Mike has led the Warriors to CCS titles on four separate occasions over the past ten years and six appearances in titles games.
Mike began his coaching career at Saratoga High School where he served as the junior varsity head coach for ten years before taking over for the legendary Benny Pierce and leading the Falcons to the section title game in 1995 and 1996. The Falcons won the CCS title with a 17-3 victory over Palma in the 1996 Division IV title game.
Coach Machado's overall record as a head coach at Valley Christian stands at 92-26-1. His teams have five CCS championships; eight title game appearances and 27 Division I players since 1995. He has earned National Recognition from the Positive Coaching Alliance as a double goal coach and he has been named coach of the year in the CCS on two separate occasions. Mike was also instrumental in bring the Football Camp for the Stars to the Valley Christian campus during the past summer.
Mike also serves as the Dean of Students at Valley Christian High School. He lives in San Jose with his wife Soseek and his children Michael (10), Sara Ann (9) and Daniel (8). All three of Mike's children are members of the Valley Christian Elementary School |
