#53 - Intentionally Doing The Right Thing
(This was shared at the Spring 2009 Awards Night) During the last week or 10 days, I noticed a number of stories in the newspaper that grabbed my attention. The first was about a young baseball player from Carmel High School with a form of Cerebral Palsy. Will Rudolph had been a team manager for football, basketball and baseball over his four years at Carmel High. But, during this his last season as a manager, something special happened. (more)

Valley Christian Hosts Annual Camp For Athletes With Down Syndrome
Valley Christian High is hosting the third annual Football Camp for the Stars on June 19-20 at the school's South San Jose campus.
Run by Warriors Coach Mike Machado and his assistant coach, former NFL standout Dana Stubblefield, the camp for athletes with Down's syndrome has been a big success in the past two years, attracting athletes from across the state. (more) |

Valley Christian's Shayne Fleming heard the crowd cheering him on as he prepared for a shot at the oldest mark in the Central Coast Section Swimming record books — the 100-yard freestyle time of 44.03 set by Lynbrook's Chris Cavanaugh in 1980. (more)

It’s Senior Day at Valley as the top ranked Archbishop Mitty Monarchs made their way up the hill. Full of excited eagerness the afternoon kicked off with the beautifully sung National Anthem by VC Junior Rami Campbell. (more)

Eric Kim Makes Hole-in-One
Eric Kim, a senior at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, experienced something very few golfers ever will. While playing in his final match for the Warrior Varsity golf team, Eric scored an eagle on the par 5 sixth hole at Silver Creek Valley Country Club. (more)
